Inviting.
Simple.
Fun.
With other brands pushing raw horsepower and motorcycle throttles, we set out to design the Dutch with a completely different priority - the simple pleasure of riding a bike.
Our goals were simple:
- Had to be beautiful as a bicycle first. The fact that it has electric assist is nearly invisible.
- Clean forms that are inviting to cyclists and non-cyclists alike. Too many bikes are intimidating to even seasoned cyclists these days.
- Light weight. Like really light weight. 27 lbs. / 12.2 kg. That's less than half the weight of most e-bikes. Carbon fiber is an amazing material.
This isn't a bike for someone wanting motorcycle-level wattage, or wanting to check their e-mail on integrated screens.
It's for those who want to remember the simple pleasure of riding a bike, with as much or as little electric assist as desired.
I think we nailed it, but I suppose I'm rather biased.
